The IB Diploma is an international academic qualification awarded to students who complete the Diploma Programme and meet its requirements. To earn it, students must take subjects from different areas of knowledge, complete internal and external assessments, and fulfill the requirements of the programme’s core subjects: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
The IB Diploma is accepted for university admission around the world and by more than 30 universities in Brazil. In other words, it is not a diploma intended only for students who wish to study abroad, but also for students who want to broaden their academic opportunities and prepare to engage as global citizens.
At Escola Bilíngue Pueri Domus, all High School students experience an IB education, and those who meet the programme’s requirements may receive the international diploma in addition to the Brazilian diploma.
After School extends the school day with a comprehensive program offered after regular school hours, from 3:30 pm. to 6 pm. Families can choose the experiences that best suit each student’s interests, age group and needs. Organized into learning pathways, the activities foster students’ social-emotional, cognitive and physical development while supporting families’ routines in a safe, welcoming and educational environment.
The experiences offered include NBA Basketball School, Natação Gustavo Borges (swimming), Escola Brasileira de Skate (skateboarding), theatre classes with Flávia Garrafa and Super Cérebro activities
Vocational Pathways make up the flexible component of the High School curriculum and complement the General Core Education established by the BNCC. Students choose these pathways to deepen and integrate learning in one or more fields of knowledge: Languages, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Applied Human and Social Sciences. Organized through subjects, interdisciplinary projects, research and hands-on experiences, the pathways connect theory and practice and allow students to explore their interests, broaden their knowledge and develop new skills. At Escola Bilíngue Pueri Domus, these pathways relate to the Life Project and help students make more informed academic and career.
